The global eSAF project landscape
This interactive map plots the commercial-scale electro-sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) projects under development across Europe and North America: 48 plants, sized by planned capacity and coloured by how far each has progressed, from announced to operational. Together they show where the synthetic jet fuel industry is actually being built, and how the Iceland eSAF Project sits within it.
eSAF, also called e-kerosene or power-to-liquid SAF, is synthetic jet fuel made from renewable electricity, water, and captured CO₂. The projects below represent the near-term global pipeline for that fuel.
How to read it. Each circle is one project. Colour marks status: operational, FID or under construction, FEED or feasibility, and announced. Circle size approximates planned annual capacity. The gold-ringed marker is the Iceland eSAF Project. Scope is Europe and North America; projects in other regions are not shown. Click any marker for the developer, location, pathway, capacity, and source.
