Icelandair has entered a memorandum of understanding for the use of up to 45,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel per year from 2028 onwards. This would account for around a 10% annual reduction of carbon emissions from Icelandair’s international network.
The carbon-neutral e-fuel will be produced at our facility near Keflavík International Airport, blended with conventional jet fuel, and used on Icelandair’s current fleet for certifiable emission reductions.
Having Iceland’s flag carrier as a named offtaker is a significant milestone, both for the project’s commercial viability and for Iceland’s position in the global SAF market.
